They get your monitor set to a known state that the printing engine can translate to similar output. There are several available options for monitor calibration, but they all do the same thing. Unless your monitor is properly calibrated, you can’t be sure that the vibrant colors you see on screen will be the same as those seen in a print. One that sets the color and brightness so that what you see on screen will translate to what comes back from the photo lab, or out of your printer. To solve that issue, you have to match your screen to a known standard. And while you may have edited the image to look fine onscreen, when you go to print it, there is a very good chance your printed output will look nothing like what you saw when editing. The settings you have applied to your computer screen can drastically affect the way the image looks on screen. To match their position, choose Match Position. To match all images to the zoom level of the selected image, choose Match Zoom. Go up to the Window menu, choose Arrange, and then choose the Match option you need. First, click on the image with the zoom level or position you want the other images to match. Photoshop lets us quickly jump all images within a multi-document layout to the exact same zoom level or position. Matching The Zoom Level And Position Of All Images To zoom out of every image at once, press Shift+Ctrl+Alt+spacebar (Win) / Shift+Command+Option+spacebar (Mac) and click on any image. All images will zoom in at the same time. To zoom in on every open image at once, press Shift+Ctrl+spacebar (Win) / Shift+Command+spacebar (Mac) and click on any image within the layout. Click on the image to zoom out from that spot. You'll see the same magnifying glass cursor icon but with a minus sign (-) in the center. With the first two images now selected, I'll open them into Photoshop by double-clicking on either of the thumbnails: Then, to select the middle image as well, I'll press and hold my Shift key and I'll click on the middle thumbnail.
